MEET THE TEAM
Our staff of sales associates, craftsmen, and design staff work together to bring beautiful wood cabinets into our customers’ homes. Meet some of our team.
Founder and President
After working as a carpenter for seven years, David discovered his affinity for building and perfecting the details of quality cabinets. He saw an opportunity to launch his own custom cabinet company, and founded Vetsch Custom Cabinets in 1980. David has managed the company for over 35 years, working closely with contractors, clients, and designers to create quality cabinet styles.
David also enjoys travelling with his wife in their RV, golfing, and spending time with his five adult daughters and seven grandchildren.
Project Manager and Shop Foreman
Mike has been in the custom cabinet business for over 30 years, and has been with Vetsch for over 17 years. He brings expertise in cabinet assembly, installation, CNC programming and Cabnetware software design. As a project manager and shop foreman, Mike oversees all jobs and works directly with each sales person. Among many other responsibilities, he makes sure all jobs can be built according to our specifications before entering them into the CNC center and sending to the shop for assembly. Mike oversees the shop crew. He also manages cabinet flow and scheduling for finishing, installation, pick up and deliveries.
Mike lives in St. Michael with his wife Pam, their five children, and their dog.
Design and Sales
Sam Syrstad wears many hats. He is a project manager, sales person and custom cabinet designer. Sam has been with Vetsch since 2009, bringing his experience in cabinetry construction, billiard table manufacturing, and five years experience in the U.S. Navy as an aviation aircraft mechanic. Sam enjoys working with customers who are seeking direction for both simple and complicated custom cabinetry designs. He enjoys managing projects and meeting the needs of both customers and independent local contractors. He says, “To see the excitement and satisfaction from each customer at the completion of each project is what motivates me.” His primary goal is always to provide the best customer service possible.

Karen is the smiling face of the Vetsch showroom. She’s responsible for helping customers select appliances, fixtures and other project-related materials.
